The 5 Emotions of The Glee Project

I'm sure there are hundreds of emotions that overwhelm the lives of the contenders on The Glee Project. Here are the five featured emotions of the final five contenders.

"Determined to win. Determined to NOT get scolded by Nikki-No-Soul in the studio. Determined to be the next Finn Hudson."

"Scared of being in the bottom three for the sixth time. Scared of having to get stripped down by Aylin again. Scared of the fact that I'm actually going to punch someone in the face before this competition is over."

"Angry because I actually have to be on this show to prove my worth to the entertainment industry. Angry because I played a role in 'Melissa and Joey'.  Angry because Michael thinks he can be better than me."

"Anxious to go home and deal with my family. Anxious for Charlie's arrival back to The Glee Project for the finale. Anxious because I know I'm going to win."

"Excited because Roxanne comes with me everywhere. Excited because I'm stuck in the 80's FOREVER. Excited because I'm 90% positive that I'm going to win my third homework assignment."

I hope I made y'allz giggles! The finale is tonight! I'm so nervous and excited! Right now, I'm totally rooting for Aylin. I should be live tweeting throughout the finale. Get excited!

My Heart Is Gone

I think I'm going to take a slightly more serious approach to this post as opposed to the wit and hilarity that I usually bring to The OMGlee Project.

"What's Bobby bloggin' boutz?!"

I'm devastated. Absolutely heart broken... and I'm ready to rip Ryan Murphy's balls out through his mouth. Lily Mae's rumored elimination caught me off guard the morning of the Act-ability episode because when I watched the 'Perfect' video, I thought her, Michael's, and Aylin's performances were the strongest. Of course, after watching the episode, I further understood why she was eliminated. It is a decision I can respect because of the fact that the whole Glee writing team was there; they made the decision a little more credible and valid. Not just Ryan being a HUGE BITCH.

From day one, I visioned Lily, Aylin, Abraham, Michael, and Blake heading for the final five. I was never a huge Blake fan, but I do honor the fact that he is wildly talented. I chose not to see that at first, because I personally find him extremely typical and boring. Either way, I knew he would make it to the finale.

"Yeahhh... we all knew that."

Honestly- I thought Lily would, too. Not just because I fucking love that girl with all my heart, but because I saw raw and honest potential for her as a character on Glee. I saw her grow every week in a way that humbled me. I watched her show the world that she loves herself, regardless of what odds may be stacked against her. I saw a girl on TV who wouldn't necessarily be considered (by the public), a sexy blonde bombshell, with a powerful voice and a stage presence that is blindsiding- embrace herself and LOVE herself.

I really thought that she could serve well on Glee. As I see it, she'll still make her mark on the world. She certainly did with me, and thousands of other people who consider themselves Team Lily.

Alright. The homework assignment. How did NOBODY besides Michael know the song 'Addicted to Love'? That blows my mind because Michael is the youngest. C'mon Ali! Represent for the 80's babies!

Their assignment in the homework was wild. They were each assigned an emotion they had to convey through the song.

I think that Lily got screwed in the 'emotion' department. Everyone else got better emotions that fit better with the song. Michael and Ali's were definitely the best, and I was thrilled to see my baby boy Michael finally win a homework. So proud!

In the booth, everyone's vocals were impressive. When Lily was recording, you could see on her face how much she felt for the song. When she said "it hits home", that means a lot because 'home' is where your true emotions lie; she expressively conveyed a very real emotion, and did it flawlessly.

She said she really wanted to connect this week, and that she did!

I was really into how into it SHE was. She went deep into the song and PERFORMED the shit out of it. Get. It. Girl.

Anyway. So why did Michael and Lily get eliminated? When I watched the 'Perfect' video, I personally thought that Ali's performance was the weakest. When I actually saw the whole episode, I could kind of see why. Yeah, Lily was beating around the bush getting to her line. So automatically, the mentors blamed LILY for Ali's weak performance. I thought that was slightly unfair. They both did well, but I thought Lily was better. I got more out of her performance in the video than I did from Ali. Sorry.

Whatever. You ALL know how pissed I am about Lily's elimination. I thought she was remarkable in 'Perfect'. I can admit that the five of them performed wonderfully. I still think Lily should have been in the finale. They could have sent Michael home and allowed Lily to continue her fight. She would have rocked the fuck out of the 'Tonight, Tonight' video, had she been featured. We'll never know now. I'm on the hunt for Mr. Ryan Murphy.

"ME. FUCKING. TOO."

I was sooooooo excited when the mentors announced that all FIVE of them were doing last chance performances for the entire team of writers from Glee. That really is a blessing for all of them, because no matter what -  they got to perform for some of the biggest writers in television. Nothing can compare to that. And I am really happy for them, because they all WERKED their songs. Literally, every last one of them tore it up on stage. I'll admit that Ali's LCP was probably in my top three (although that kills me because I want Aylin to win). But Lily's 'Son of a Preacher Man' was perfect. She made me feel like that song was written FOR her.

I went screenshot crazy on this bitch.

Because it was amazing. One of her best last chance performances. But let's get real; every single one of her LCPs were genuinely fabulous. That is hard to dispute because it's obnoxiously true. I just love this girl so much. If she made it to the finale, I think she could have won. I mean, all of them could; they made it this far for a reason.

Like I said in the beginning of this post, I heard about Lily's elimination a few hours before the episode aired. I was utterly shocked in every way possible. I can respect the fact that these writers are professionals and know what they are doing, but I disagree with her elimination.

Needless to say, I have been a member of #TeamLily since episode one. I learned a lot from her, and I think she has star power and will go on and do great things. Lily, I love you so much and I'll be there to support you as a fan and a friend throughout your career, which I expect to be a wild ride for you. Whether or not you made it on Glee, you shared your story with the world - which is the ultimate goal of this whole thing, right? Just because you didn't win the The Glee Project doesn't mean you didn't win something equally important (or even more so) than being cast on Glee. You have so many fans that love, support, relate, embrace, and accept you for who you are. You love yourself regardless of what we're told to love in the magazines. It's refreshing to see that on TV, and so many people can be inspired by you. I wish you all the best in everything coming your way in life. Lots of love! MWAH!

Michael Q&A!

The time has come, folks! My third interview is with the young and obnoxiously handsome Michael Weisman! Here we go!

Q: Who on Glee inspires you the most?
A: Burt Hummel inspires me to be accepting of everyone I can, and to push myself to embrace things that are different and maybe uncomfortable at first, just as he learned to do with his son, Kurt.

Q: What song would you want your potential character to sing as your introduction into the show?
A: The first song I would want my character to sing on the show would be “I Don’t Need No Doctor,” the John Mayer version. It’s got a killer guitar lick, I love Ray Charles, and it’s bluesy. Right up my alley.

Q: If given the opportunity, who would you like to sing a duet with on Glee? What song?
A: If I could sing a duet on Glee, I’d want it to be with Naya Rivera, and we would sing “Tubthumping,” by Chumbawamba. It would be hilarious and awesome.

Q: Who/what is your favorite singer/band?
A: I think my all-time favorite singer and guitarist is Jimi Hendrix. I never get tired of listening to him.

Q: Do you have any original music, and if so, do you ever plan on recording an album?
A: I don’t have any original music right now, but I might soon! Be on the lookout ;)

Q: Do you play any instruments?
A: I've played guitar for over ten years. I also play some bass, harmonica, and piano.

Q: Other than singing and performing, what are your hobbies?
A: I really enjoy cooking, hiking, and biking. I’ve recently started playing squash, and love the workout. It’s so much fun!

Q: What acting or theater experience do you have before The Glee Project?
A: Before the The Glee Project, I had taken acting classes with Menomonee, Lookinglass, and Piven. I was also in several of my high school productions.

Q: What was your initial reaction for being cast on The Glee Project?
A: When I found out I was cast on The Glee Project, I was so excited! I couldn’t believe I was going to LA to film a TV show. I knew I would also get to miss some school, so I was happy about that too!

Q: Did you follow Glee before auditioning for The Glee Project?
A: Before I auditioned for The Glee Project, I wasn’t an avid fan of Glee, but I had watched a bunch of episodes and loved it! I was in a short-lived Glee club at my school one year, too. After I auditioned though, I watched every season, front to back.

Q: What is your dream role on Glee?
A: My dream role on Glee is to play a brooding musician-type who also takes his grades seriously. But, Ryan could probably come up with something better.

Q: Who would you like to see your potential Glee character “date” or “hook-up” with?
A: I’m sure that my potential Glee character would go for Dianna Agron. Quinn Fabray is a bad girl on the show, so the she would fit well with the brooding musician. And she’s gorgeous.

Q: Who do you think your character would rival with?
A: My character would definitely rival with Sue Sylvester, since he wouldn’t handle authority very well, even though she is one of my favorites on Glee.

Q: Do you REALLY love Math, or are you just REALLY good at it?
A: I’ve always enjoyed math. Some of it comes easily, but most of the time I have to work really hard at it. Calculus was really engaging because it was abstract and the focus is on the path to the answer, not the answer itself. You’re forced to use everything you’ve learned. I love hearing classmate’s ways of finding answers so I can expand my own creativity. And what isn’t sexy about that?

Q: What would you say has been your strongest week thus far?
A: I think vulnerability week was really strong for me. My time in the booth was great, I’m happy with how the line turned out. It was also the most powerful video we did and I learned so much on set. My scenes with Blake helped me grow so much as an actor.

Q: You’ve been given many notes from the mentors in terms of your “lack of confidence”. How would you explain, or even justify that for yourself and to your fans?
A: Well it’s hard to be confident when you’re 18, never done any of this before, never sang so much, and constantly putting yourself out there and doing ridiculous things on national TV. I attribute the supposed lack of confidence to the way that I get into my head and blow things up.

Q: Explain the trouble you had in the booth when you get too caught up “in your head”.
A: When I get caught up in my head I want to sift through problems individually, but there isn’t time for that in the booth. So instead of just forgetting the last take and giving my all to the next one, I hold on to my failures and put them under a magnifying glass.

Q: It must be difficult being in the throes of a reality television competition. Explain how you, personally, maintained relationships with the other contenders, while competing against them.
A: The nice thing about the show is that even though we are competing against each other, we are not pitted against each other like on other reality TV shows. We are free to maintain which relationships we choose and can remain friendly with everyone. The only one you really have to compete against is yourself.

Q: Your moves in Dance-ability were actually some of the best out of the whole cast. Did you have any dancing experience prior to TGP?
A: I don’t have any real dance experience, but I have been known to bust a move at your local house party, so the Dance-ability music video was right in my comfort zone. Plus, Blake and I practiced until exhaustion.

Q: During Sexuality week, you were placed in the bottom three. How did it feel knowing that may have been your time to leave the show?
A: I didn’t feel that was going to my time to leave the show. But if I did, I would have left with some incredible life experiences and would have felt changed all the better for it. Every moment since callbacks has been a blessing, and I tried to live each one like it were my last. I felt so grateful to be on the show every day, and knew that whenever I left it would be with a feeling of pride and accomplishment.

Q: Your last chance performance in Sexuality was obviously very difficult for you. Can you explain why singing “Lucky” was such a disaster for you?
A: Singing “Lucky” was really bizarre. I had never choked like that on stage before. Maybe it was because I was in a giant auditorium with four people [in the] spotlight and one of them was Ryan Murphy. I don’t really know what happened, but I still went for it and made up some funny lyrics. I actually talked to a friend who had the same lyrics issue with “Lucky.” Maybe something about Jason Mraz?....

Q: You were in the bottom four during Fearlessness and Theatricality week; what do you think you did that kept you out of the bottom three both weeks?
A: There’s a multitude of reasons why anyone is in the bottom three, and it’s based on different facets of each week's performance. There’re so many variables and ultimately it’s the mentor’s decision in the end. I’m glad I was spared from those last chance performances.

Q: How would you explain Theatricality, and how did you apply that to your performance in that episode?
A: I think theatricality is all about being bigger, funnier, and faster. It’s about a heightened sense of realism. It has to be a little more over the top. The tricky part is taking all of that and trying to adapt it to the camera.

Q: Michael, your fans absolutely love you! Do you have any last words to them to wrap up this Q&A?
A: The response from my fans has been just incredible. I feel so blessed to have so many supporters and am so glad that I can inspire some. It’s been such a great ride. I love each and every one of my fans, and I’m sorry I’m so inactive on Twitter/Facebook! It doesn’t mean I don’t care or don’t notice you – believe me I do. So follow your dreams and stay true to yourself. And tune in every Tuesday :)

HUGE shouts to Michael for completing this Q&A for me! It's such a blessing to have the entire cast engage themselves in my blog! It's a dream come true, and I am so thankful to each one of them! Thanks for reading, everybody! I hope you all LOVED it!

BRICK

Ugh. THIS KID KILLS ME. "Charm on a Stick" as Ryan Murphy would say, and I could NOT agree more with that statement. Well said.

So, Michael hasn't been the best in the studio these past few weeks. I love him so much, but it infuriates me beyond comprehension when he fucks up in the booth because I don't think I'd be able to watch him get booted from the show without crying like Mr. Schuester during Nationals.

Every single week, Michael kind of skates on by while everyone else is literally killing themselves trying to win the homework assignments and trying not to get eliminated. You know it's true. Michael just does his own thing, and it works.

"What up Amber Riley?"

Yeah, so there he is... just doing his thing. And he manages to pull it off! What about that is "tenacious"? All I see is a dude that can get a girl pregnant just by singing to her. For serious.

HERE'S AN IDEA! Let's just tell him that he's not as good as Blake. Yup, that'll show him.

"Uhhhh... but Blake can do it."

"So can I, biotch. I just need like twenty tries first."

I have always considered Nikki to be a huge asshole, but telling someone that another contender is better than them while they're trying to focus? Not cool.

"Get ready to meet Blake 2.0"

So after Michael ended up finishing in the studio... it was now time for him to actually do something SERIOUS so that they don't send this beautiful boy home.

But my first question is: HOW THE HELLZ IS SOMEONE SUPPOSED TO FUCKING PLAY DOUBLE-DUTCH IF THEY DON'T KNOW HOW?!?!?!? This applies to Abraham, too. I went to an all black elementary school, and I can't even do that shit.

Erik and the mentors eventually figured out that double-dutch is hard as shit, so they switched to regular jumprope. Bravo, fucknuts. Anywho, I posted a link to "Eye of the Tiger" in my Dueling Divas post. But let's look at some wanky Michael screenshots, shall we?

YES.

Now that we have all shared that moment together, we can proceed to being angry that Michael was in the bottom three. It pains me to admit this, but he didn't shine this week in the homework assignment or the studio. The video, though? I think they made a bigger deal out of the jumprope debacle than they probably should have. But I expect nothing less.

Michael came back full force with a last chance performance that I can only explain as a teenage dream. I was terrified that we would all have to relive his "Lucky" performance. Thankfully, we didn't have to. His rendition of "Brick" by Ben Folds Five was a compilation of everything good in the world coming together in the form of a boy who I expect to be the next Finn Hudson. A Finn Hudson that can actually dance, well.

I'd be comfortable telling you all that that just may be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life. It was fantastic. The last thing I would ever do is compare this kid to Blake. Yes, Blake's good, but Michael is one of a kind, and gives us something to root for. Absolutely amazing.

Michael Weisman FTW.
